Auto Welding Helmet

Aug 19, 2011

Which welding hamlet is better to buy.?

I’m learning to weld and are planning to buy a helmet, can you guys tell me what kind is better to buy, I prefer the ones with auto darkening, Thanks for your help.
They are expensive and don’t want to buy two times this item. Thanks.

You have to ask yourself how serious you are going to get into welding. Just play around I would go with a cheaper one (I did not say the cheapest one). I use Speedglas (i.m.o. the best) I have one that is 20 years old and still going strong. I like them so well that I have 4 of them. You could go with Jackson, Miller, Hobart, Huntsman and so on. If you buy one less than $150 you will not be happy with it especially if you tig weld.
Here are some sites about hoods. Good luck.
